We are not a fucking gallery!

‘So you sell art... in a store and online... but you are not a gallery?’

I don’t understand...you’ve lost me...

Well now it is time to set the bar straight. Let’s face this issue head on.

Yes we sell art, but NO we are NOT a gallery.

One of a kind, brand spanking new, you heard it here first people. Now, let me explain....

Let’s set the scene. We’ve all been there before. Wandering aimlessly around the streets of whatever city you may find yourself in. You walk past a gallery and something catches your eye. You take a look at the piece in question from the safe parameter of behind the squeaky clean outer facade of the (no doubt empty) gallery building. Then god forbid you happen to catch the eye of the dreaded gallery girl... One of the most feared creatures of all the land... She gives you a look that sends shivers down your spine and instantaneously makes you question every life decision you have ever made. You scurry off in a flash and be on your way, wondering why on earth you ever would have thought you could enter, let alone look at ART in a GALLERY. Phew, glad that was over.

The Public House of Art could be further away from this nightmarish scene. Forget what you know, forget what you’ve heard (yes we did turn our store into a whore house for our opening event but no, we are NOT a brothel...), we here at The Public House of Art like to disrupt but not bankrupt, smash up the rule book, and go where no art selling store has ever gone before... As they say, a picture paints a thousand words, so have a look for yourself...

Now let’s spend a little time talking about affordable art.

Yes, you have your run of the mill institutions (no need for the name game, you know the places I mean) where you can buy average at best photography or digital art with edition numbers of 250 plus... Wow, so original, please sign me up.... I don’t think so. Sometimes you will be able to find original art for less than 1000 euros, and should that day ever come, I can guarantee you will not be left begging for more.

So let me break it down for you. Our aim of the game is to bring directly to you, our loving customers, groundbreaking, boundary pushing, jaw gaping affordable art. Photographic art and digital art that come in four prices and four sizes AND original artworks and sculpture. Say it ain’t so...

We want to differentiate ourselves entirely from the snobbish, pretentious gallery stereotypes that you are all so used to, by bringing you highly collectable, extremely aesthetically pleasing, affordable art. No hidden messages, no deeper meaning bullshit, just incredible art at unbeatable prices.

Oh where oh where can I buy such art? WELL, you can come on down and buy art from us in our shiny, newly opened mega store in the heart of Amsterdam’s famous spiegelkwartier or you can buy our affordable art online, right here, right now through our website. Not only can you buy our editioned photographic and digital artworks online but we’ve gone one step further (as usual) and also have made available our original art and sculpture online as well. Look how easy we are making it for you.

Just so you can get a better visual idea of how our artworks look in situ, here is our own photowall and pyramid as seen in our beautiful store.

And here are some picture hanging ideas of how they could look in your own home.

Well ladies and gentlemen, I hope I have cleared up once and for all any queries or questions you may have had about how we are changing the art world to become a better, more accessible place. Down with snobs, out with pretentious stereotypes and in with vodka drinking, ass kicking, boundary pushing Public House of Art. Now form an orderly queue, our artworks await...
