The story behind…

Andrey Kezzyn was overcome with inspiration by our national treasure, The Night Watch; not only for the dramatic tenebrism or the perception of motion, but for it’s colossal size. Kezzyn then decided to embark on his largest shoot to date, challenge accepted! The Night Squad stars the artist’s favourite comic characters, why? Because the idea that good and bad are separate entities is a naïve dogma! The artist employs these vigilant figures, who have won the public’s hearts, to lead the Night Squad as they defend our voice when we stand tall amongst giants. The man in red, the general viewer, Mr. Global Anonymous is emblematic of the power of singular voices and beliefs coming together for whats right in this world. With so many social platforms to hear and be heard, the individual has gained the chance to dictate, create, protect - it’s not about how fast you react, but how you react. Who can mock the most powerful dictators? Who can shine light on what’s right and protect the innocent? The cautious girl in gold is aware of what’s happening, and although her costume suggests she’s from an era long ago, she is a mystery as she looks out to the future - she is galvanised.
