THE RIJKS

Posted on November 2nd, 2017

We all have a fixation of remaining young. Some will choose to retain their child-like personalities (young at heart all the way!) while others will look for the best plastic surgeon in town. The same can be said for The Rijks, an exhibition by Public House of Art where themes of the past are given a ‘face-lift’ to remain relevant in today’s world.

In an increasingly forward moving society, we continuously have a hunger for the traditional. What better way to satiate that appetite for the past? The timeless dichotomy of the old and the new has been explored through time, be it for nostalgia of what once was, or an apprehension of what is to come. With our new opening of The Rijks, we bring you a history of art retold where artists bring out the beauty of past masterpieces with a fresh perspective.

It's time for a revival of the fittest because the old never looked so new...
