It’s been an incredible and historic 8 years for the United States of America with Barack Obama at the helm. The hype gearing up to his farewell, began with FLOTUS’ heartening final speech followed by a dissident acceptance speech reserved for an unnamed militant from the iconic Meryl Streep. But, it was on 10 January 2017 that Barack Obama delivered his Farewell Address, and once again benevolently impassioned a nation and generations to believe and know that “WE are the change.”
He validated our concerns that “it’s become safer to retreat into our own bubbles” as we enter this contentious, uncertain period. But as the great man bowed out, he parted with the resounding reminder: “Yes we can. Yes we did. Yes we can.” We appreciate you, Barack Obama. Here’s our homage to your legacy that has become immortalised by art.
